And the Oscar Goes to…Although I really enjoyed Silver Linings Playbook (Jennifer Lawrence is my selection for Best Actress), my pick for Best Picture is Argo, the thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Send me your pick for Best Picture of 2012.

Rich Man, Poor Man (aka How to be Successful!) – Successful people believe they create their destiny; unsuccessful people believe “life happens to me.” Successful people take personal responsibility for their actions and circumstances; unsuccessful people blame the government, their boss, their spouse, their kids. Today is the first day of the rest of your life – write a new ending to your movie.

Shania Twain at Caesars Palace – Incredible show! Let’ start with the only weakness – the transitions. There is a leopard scene. Huh? And later, a heavy metal interlude. What? Transitions aside, Shania fans are going to LOVE this show. It’s 100 minutes of pure Shania, and in typical Las Vegas style, the first hour is good and the last 30 minutes are spectacular. Godfather Rating: “A”.

Rock of Ages, the hit Broadway muscial, is the newest show at the Venetian.

Million Dollar Quartet – If you missed it at the Smith Center, you are in luck!  The show takes up residency in the Harrahs Showroom on February 4 with tickets starting at $69.

Bacchanal Buffet with EricZ – My friend EricZ invited me over to Caesars Palace to check out their newly renovated Bacchanal Buffet. You could make a pretty good argument that this is the best buffet ($32.99 for lunch, $45.99 to $50.99 for dinner) in Las Vegas. With 9 serving stations, you need a map to get back to your table!

What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal. Albert Pike

Success is getting what you want. Happiness is wanting what you get. Dale Carnegie

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7   We are pressed on every side by troubles, but not crushed and broken. We are perplexed, but we don’t give up and quit. We get knocked down, but we get up again and keep going. 2 Corinthians 4:8-9

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrew 13:5
