The Godfather Posse included world class magician Steve Dacri and his wife Jan, my best friend Steve Teske, Zoe and her Mom Laurel, Johnny "Elvis" Thompson, Christi Hines, actor/singer Rex Smith and his wife Traci, Brad Warga and his wife Teala, and Jennifer and Michael Martiniez. It’s Not Your Stuff

It’s Not Your Stuff!  Always remember this – you don’t own any of it. Everything you have is a blessing from God, and you are the steward of those blessings for a short time.  So what are your top three priorities.  Regardless of what you think they are, here is how you can tell the truth.  First, look at your checkbook and see where you spend your money.  Second, evaluate how you spend your time.  Do you work 80 hours a week or do you take the time to give back?  As always, I am called to be a witness, not the judge and jury.  Just a gentle reminder that it is not YOUR stuff!

There are two upcoming charity events in Las Vegas that should not be missed!  September 11 is Jeans to Jewels for Opportunity Village.  Western hoedown at Frank Martin’s Bitter Root Ranch.  Tickets are $175.  Check out www.opportunityvillage.org or contact me directly.

Close Your Eyes and Tap Your Heels Together Three Times

Since the tornadoes didn’t get me in Oklahoma, I’m on my way to Las Vegas for two weeks to host two events.

First, the Make-A-Wish Dinner on May 19. We filled four tables of ten with clients and friends. THANK YOU so much to those of you that are attending!

Second, my client mixer on the roof of the Las Vegas Hilton May 26. One hundred of the most interesting executives, entrepreneurs and celebrities in Las Vegas! And one or two surprise performances. We are bringing the Karaoke machine…so it is ON!

From the job front, here are a few brand new ones:

CFO – Payment Systems or Gaming Products ($400,000, Las Vegas)
Director, Slot Systems Sales ($300,000, Las Vegas)
GM – Casino ($250,000, Midwest)
Director, Product Development ($175,000, East Coast)
Director, Engineering – Slots ($140,000, East Coast)
Director, Strategic Planning ($125,000, Las Vegas)
Director, Advertising ($125,000, Las Vegas)
Product Development ($125,000, East Coast)
IT Project Manger ($90,000, Las Vegas)
Manager, Revenue Management ($80,000, East Coast)
Manager, Player Development ($80,000, East Coast)

Due to the overwhelming number of candidate referrals, and the shortage of available career opportunities, I can only represent candidates that are an exact match for an existing opening. Truly appreciate all the referrals though!

I’ll leave you with this…the enhanced version of the "Zenyatta and Zoe" Make-A-Wish video. Get out the Kleenex!

In Memoriam – Tim Parrott

Tim Parrott, CEO of Shuffle Master and the former President of Aristocrat Technologies, passed away this week.

Tim was one of the finest people I ever met, and I have literally met hundreds of thousands of people. He was a client and business partner, but more importantly, he was my friend. We hung out smoking cigars on several occasions and Tim would spin up stories from the old casino days. He would paint pictures of places and characters while I hung on every word.

In a world that promotes materialism and self-absorbtion, Tim was an incredibly genuine and generous individual. Never heard him make a negative comment; never heard him raise his voice. When one of my sponsors dropped out of a Big Brothers Big Sisters event, Tim was there to pick up the sponsorship. He made the world a little bit better place.

It was an honor to know you Tim, and I miss you already. Rest in peace my Brother…

To Whom Much is Given, Much is Required

Greetings from The Godfather!

As you know, my passion is church, charity and community. Sure, my day job is placing high priced executives, however the purpose of that business is to support my charity work. Here are a few events I’m involved with.

First up is a Make-A-Wish Dinner May 19. We have four tables of ten. THANK YOU to the 40 friends and clients that are attending the dinner with me! Also attending my first ever Dallas charity event May 5 for the Fort Worth Library Foundation. Hope to pick up more clients in Dallas so I can become more involved with charity work in Dallas.

August will be "After the Finish Line", the horse rescue charity Founded by Dawn Mellen.

September is VERY busy. On September 11 is Frank Martin’s "Jeans to Jewels" for Opportunity Village. Western hoedown – not to be missed! September 30 I am Co-Chair for DISH, a huge fundraiser for Three Square in Las Vegas.

The year wraps up December 12 with a benefit performance by Terry Fator for the Arthritis Foundation.

If you have interest in any of these events, feel free to call or email me directly. We are looking for silent/live auction items, sponsors and volunteers.

I’ll leave you with this, "to whom much is given, much is required." For it is written, "whatever you did for the least of My brothers, you did for Me." If you can’t donate money, donate your time and talents. And may the Lord bless you richly for your generosity!
